Review: Ka-Brow by Benefit

Hello cupcakes. This past Sunday I was invited by Sephora to a VIB Rogue event where I got to preview some items that are not yet on the market. It was nice to see the products, and have the store mostly to ourselves since it was a closed event. While there I asked about a few products and ask for suggestions for eyebrow products. The overly gal recommended Ka-Brow, and eyebrow color gel (cream?) by Benefit.

I currently use powder for my brows, and explained to her the issues I had with wiping it away at times, and how I felt it got darker at times. She assured me with this product I wouldn’t have those problems. Once the gel sets it’s on. I was intrigued as she proceeded to show us how to use it.

It comes in this little silver container, along with a booklet with instructions and tips. At first I thought this won’t do, I’ll probably go through that so fast. You twist the piece and the bottom comes off to reveal a small pot of gel, the top then comes apart and there’s a brush there.

My brows are dark so we went with the shade in the number 6, my friend’s brows are lighter and she was able to find a natural looking match for her too. So you use the gel by dipping the brush into the gel and applying it onto your brows. I warn you though all you need is a dab, a little goes a long way.

You can fill in your brows for a natural look, and build up from there for a more sculpted look. However you like your brows to be this product can get you there. The staying power is amazing. You have about 2-3 minutes to work with the gel before it sets, allowing you to build it up or dab some away if need be. I’ve used it a few times now and my brows look just as good at the end of the day as they did in the morning. I live in Jersey and it’s been hot and humid these past few days, but that has not made this gel budge. At night it was easy to take off with the makeup remover I use.

With just a teeny dab I was able to draw out these 3 lines on my hand. All the worries I had of using this product up quickly have been laid to rest. I am positive that this little pot is going to go a long way.

I’m more than happy to have picked this up. It’s so easy to use and versatile. Whether I’m going for a natural look or a more dramatic one, I can achieve it with this. The sales girl did inform me that Ka-Brow isn’t scheduled to be released until late June, early July. Once it goes on the market you should stop by Sephora, or a Benefit counter and try it out for yourself. Now that summer is upon us the last thing we need to worry about is our brows getting jacked up, Ka-Brow will make sure they don’t.

What new products are you looking forward to try? What are your fave beauty products? I’m always looking for suggestions and new things to try.

Sephora Bumble and Bumble VIB Event

Hello dolls. So last week I was contacted by Sephora and invited to a VIB event they were holding for Bumble and Bumble products at a salon. Bumble and Bumble is a line of hair products that I have been curious about so I immediately signed up. They were nice enough to let me bring a friend so I invited Katy.

So on Sunday me and Katy headed out to Moments Salon & Spa in Mount Laurel, NJ for the event. We were greeted by a lovely gal who checked us in and told us to head on in. They had a few stations set up to try out some Smashbox lip and check colors, some of the Bumble and Bumble products and mini facials with Ole Henriksen products. We were given mimosas and began to look around.

We decided to do the mini facials and I’m so happy we did. The products the gentleman used felt so good and refreshing. I will be picking up their wipes along with their Truth Serum. The serum is applied under your moisturizer and is suppose to be a collagen booster.

We were done just in time for the first raffle. Who could believe Katy was the first winner! She won a complete set of Ole Henriksen products. I was so excited. Then my name was called next! I could t believe it. I won a Smashbox best sellers try it kit, along with a full sized bottle of Smashbox Photo Finish primer which I love.

We were then taken to the back of the salon where we each had a stylist waiting for us. The stylist were lovely gals and very knowledgable. They styled our hair with Bumble and Bumble products and gave us some recommendations. My stylist put some curls in my hair but sadly I forgot to take a picture.

We hung around for a bit longer before leaving, but not without a swag bag. The bag was filled with Bumble and Bumble products, including a full sized bottle of Surf Infusion spray that doesn’t hit shelves till next month sometime. There was also two Smashbox lip samples and a $10 Sephora gift card. The bag itself is pretty cute and I can see myself using it in the future on a shopping trip.

It was a lovely day and I enjoyed the pampering. I haven’t used any of the products yet on my hair but will do so soon. I might write a review about them, let me know if it’s something you would like to read about. I wasn’t sure what to expect since I’ve never been to something like this. I have to say they did a great job organizing it and we enjoyed ourselves a lot.
What are your go to hair and face products?

Xoxo

Sephora Haul

Hello cupcakes. Once again I’ve been MIA for awhile. I feel bad but the reality is life has been busy. I will be sitting down tomorrow and finally working out my schedule and my goal is to at the very least have one new post a week, along with keeping up more with the blogs I read. It’s just a little tough because I don’t have a set 9-5 schedule, some days I leave my house at 7:50am and don’t get back till 9pm. But anyways enough of my ongoing scheduling problems and on to the good stuff.

I was able to pick up a few things at Sephora last week and wanted to share my haul with you. So here we go.

First off I picked up Chloe rollerball perfume. A coworker of mine had this on and I just had to get it. It’s a floral smell (roses), but not overwhelming. I suffer from allergies and can’t tolerate overly floral smells but this I can. I decided to go with the rollerball so I can toss it in my purse. Price at Sephora is $25.

I then grabbed a tube of Fresh Sugar advanced lip therapy. Winter has gotten pretty bitter and my lips and skin were beginning to really feel it. I’m still not sure if I like this or not. I want to use it a bit more before making a final decision, especially at a $25 price point. I’ll give a better review next month.

As a lover of the cat eye look I am forever trying out different liners. I’ve tried several brands but always end up back with the Kat Von D tattoo liner. It’s just fabulous. The flow is continuous and the tip is fine giving you a smooth line. I can’t rave enough about this liner. I’m ok with the price, $19 since some of the other high end liners go for about $25+. I do want to find a drug store brand that’s just as good but so far that’s yet to happen. Till then I’ll continue my search.

I’m sure I’m not the only one that dislikes the tedious task of washing your makeup brushes, but alas it has to get done. I usually use baby shampoo but wanted to try the BeautyBlender cleanser solid bar. I don’t own a BeautyBlender but I figured I could use this on my brushes. I haven’t used it yet but will more than happy to do a review on it if anyone is interested. Sephora has it for $15.95.

And last but not least are these Sephora face masks. There are different ones that work for different conditions such as moisturizing and brightening, anti aging, and soothing to name a few. I tried green tea one before which is for mattifying and anti blemish and I loved it, so I grabbed it again. I also picked up the rose one: moisturizing and brightening. And lotus: moisturizing and soothing. At $6 each it’s a nice little treat for your face. I use them once a week at night, usually on the weekend to unwind from the week.

If anyone would like a more in depth review of any of the products I listed I’m more than glad to do one.

What are some of your favorite beauty products? I’m always looking to try new things.
