What’s in My Schoolbag

Hello cupcakes. I’ve always been fascinated by what’s in my bag videos. It’s fun to see what other people carry, and if any of them have some of the dame things I do. So I decided to do a what’s in my schoolbag video since it is back to school times. I hope everyone enjoys it, and if you would like to see a regular what’s in my bag video let me know and I’ll be happy to do so. As always feedback and suggestions are welcome.

February Style Recap

Hello fabulous people. Here we are March 1st, woo we’re getting closer to spring. I’ve already noticed the sun staying out a bit later and I’m getting excited. March is going to be busy, busy. Two of my kids have birthdays, including Squish who turns 1!! Before I go getting into more March stuff I want to recap February a bit, well at least the clothes I wore. So in January I say on my bed and was going through the whole I don’t have anything to wear spiel as I stared at a closet full of clothes. I then decided I needed to give myself a style jumpstart. I have clothes I just needed to style them differently and perhaps buy just a piece or two more. So I set forth to find a style challenge on Instagram and made it a pint to participate as much as possible. I did the the #wearwhatwherefeb challenge hosted but the lovely Katy (@wearwhatwhere). She’ll be hosted another for March, if you want the prompts to join in head on over to her page and find the post. Oh and let me know so I can follow you, or if you just want me to follow you just because that’s fine too. So here are my fave “style” picks for February.

So one of my goals with this challenge was to try to not go to my go to colors of black and grays. I think I did pretty good.

What are your go to colors? Do you have any style challenges you participate in? Any recommendations for me?

Until next time.

Review: Lime Crime Velveteen Red Velvet

Hello cupcakes.
Brr the weather this weekend has been slushy, cold and yucky. On top of that everyone in my house was sick. Oh fun times. Today was the first day all week I was able to do anything, so when my girlfriend asked to meet for lunch I was all for it.

I threw on an outfit and did my makeup. I kept my eyes pretty soft so decided to do a bold red lip. Of course I reached for one of my favorites, Lime Crime’s Velveteen lipstick in Red Velvet. Let me just tell you it’s been love at first sight since the first time I tried it.

I never thought I would be able to pull off a red lipstick until I found this one. I think a big reason I love it is because it goes on wet but dries to a matte. I’m all about matte lipsticks lately. I can’t say it’s completely stain proof, some will come off here and there but not like regular lipstick. I’ve eaten complete meals with drinks and dessert and not had to touch up my lips. That’s a plus in my books. Sometimes if I don’t want such a bold red I take a dark burgundy lip pencil and fill in my lips with it a bit mixing the colors before it dries. By far this is one of my favorite purchases and I’m going to be buying more from the line.

As you can see it is bright red but still kinda of flat I guess is the way I would describe it. The perfect pop for those special days out. Hope you all are keeping warm. Till next time.

What’s your go to lip color? Do you prefer lipstick or lipgloss?

Review: L’Occitane Shea Butter Lotion

Hello cupcakes. As most of you know winter is upon us and man is Jack Frost doing the most right now. The temps are frigid and the snow is falling. Which means are skin is suffering. If there’s one thing I can’t stand is dry, ashy hands. I think we can all agree that that’s just a no no. Today I’m doing a review on a lotion I’ve been using for the past two months.

Back in November I came across a L’Occitane store and had to go in. I had seen their products before and had been meaning to try them so I figured why not now. I ended up picking up their dry skin Shea butter lotion, in travel size. It’s a 1 ounce tube, which has 20% Shea butter in it. You can find it online on the L’Occitane site or on Sephora for about $12.

So as I said I’ve been using this lotion for about two months and I love it. It’s so creamy but not extra greasy. So once you rub it it in it soaks into your skin but doesn’t leave your hands feeling greasy, which I hate.

It’s odorless which is a plus for those of us with sensitive noses. I can honestly say it’s one of the better lotions I’ve tried. My only gripe is the price. For $12 I wish I had a bit more than a ounce. However two months later and I have about half the tube still left because you don’t need to use much.

Overall I give it a 9 out of 10. I’m so pleased that I plan on trying out more of their products so be on the lookout for those reviews.

What is your favorite lotions? Any products that are your go to for winter? Let me know so I can check them out.

Till next time loves.

Currently…

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted what some of my currents are. So I thought why not?

IMG_0661.JPG

Reading: Gone Girl, yes I’m a bit late. I wanted to read the book before I watched the movie but it worked out the other way around. I enjoyed the movie and am also enjoying the book.

Watching: The Killing on Netflix. This was originally aired on AMC, yet somehow I missed it. It was canceled but thankfully Netflix picked it up. It’s about two detectives trying to solve a homicide with loads of twists and turns along the way.

Gym: Been working on my cardio. I hate cardio, I rather lift but it has to get done. I think part of the reason why I hate it is because I suck at it. I’ve had issues with my knees that interfere with running and other activities. I’m working on building up my stamina & endurance.

Family: Squish is 10 months old and I’m still adjusting. He’s currently teething again and there have been many sleepless nights in our home.
The oldest joined the robotics team after I “encouraged” him to and loves it!! I’m volunteering on the team and am excited to see what they come up with. The current project has to do with recycling.

Music: Currently I’m loving “Riptide” by Vance Joy. It just puts me in a good mood.

Purchased: Well it’s not technically a purchase, it’s a replacement. My headphones broke but luckily I had protection plan on them and today I received my brand new pair of headphones.

Projects: Focusing on this blog and getting back to posting. Also been toying around with the idea of making some vlogs. I did a few years back and am always asked why I stopped. It’s a time issue and time continues to be an issue but I may aim for biweekly maybe. Any suggestions, topics are welcomed.

There’s my currents, what are some of yours? I love hearing what other people are into.

Till next time my lovelies.
